Climbing roses are no
more difficult to care
for than other roses.
SUPPORTS
Climbing
roses need to be tied
to a trellis, pergola, or
other structure with
twine or green tie
tape. Pick a location
that receives at least a
half day of sun—a full
day is even better.
PRUNING
In early
spring, remove dead
or damaged branches,
and those that grow
in a direction that
makes it difficult to tie
them to the structure.
REGULAR CARE
For vigorous, heavy-
blooming roses,
fertilize regularly. Use
a fertilizer specifically
for roses, and follow
package instructions.
Remove spent flowers,
and water as needed
to keep soil moist.
